God made a covenant with Noah never to destroy the whole world again. However, sinful man continued to separate himself from God and so he sent Jesus who became the New Covenant, a once and for all sacrifice for all out sins. His message is one of hope, repentance, freedom and peace.

We are called to turn back to God, to put all our trust in him and seek his guidance. We are called to listen to his wise counsel not the empty words of men who will satisfy us only momentarily whilst God has the message of eternal life.

In this time of Advent, there are many opportunities to turn back, including Penitential Services in our Catholic Churches. If you haven’t been to the Sacrament of Reconciliation for a long time, now is the chance to turn back to God and make your peace with Him this Christmas.
