God performs two miracles for Moses who is finally convinced to do God’s will but then he protests that he cannot speak. Doesn’t God have infinite patience! God provides him with Aaron who will add eloquence to the message that has been given to Moses.

In obedience they approach Pharaoh together but rather than heed the word of God, Pharaoh inflicts further suffering on the people of Israel who then turn against Moses. Incidentally, it is no accident that two approach Pharaoh with the message from God for Jesus himself says ‘Where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them’.

Moses and Aaron cannot see God’s ultimate plan for His people, any more than Peter and the disciples did as Jesus continues on his course to suffering and death in Jerusalem.

Often we find ourselves suffering even though we are trying to do God’s will. We must remain faithful, praise the Lord and hour Him and he will protect and guide us on His mission.
