Dismantling and rebuilding the Tabernacle every time the people of Israel travelled would have been a difficult job if God had not only provided full instructions for the task but also all the manpower and skills required to achieve this incredible undertaking. Each person was assigned their own responsibility and if all worked together as a community, the mission could be achieved successfully.
God also provides a ritual for dealing with infidelity in a marriage. As we know from the Book of Genesis, the primary purpose of marriage is to pro-create children. So when the Sadducees, the teachers of religious law question Jesus about aspects of marriage in heaven, they have clearly forgotten the very scriptures they profess to teach! Whilst we do not receive a complete picture of the heavenly realm, in respect of marriage, we will be like the angels who do not marry, but devote every ou8nce of their love to God.
Continuing with this theme of love, Jesus teaches that the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love your neighbour as yourself. By serving one another in this life, we serve as Jesus serves, love as Jesus loves and bring the Kingdom of God a little closer to our communities.
