New Evangelisation

Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have both called for a New Evangelisation and it is incumbent upon Catholic Christians as members of one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church, we take the lead in that mission, using whatever skills and talents they have been given, to spread the Good News throughout the world.

At the end of World Youth Day in Rio, 2013, Pope Francis repeated that call to mission:

“I want you to make yourselves heard in your dioceses, I want the noise to go out, I want the church to go out onto the streets, I want us to resist everything worldly, everything static, everything comfortable, everything to do with clericalism, everything that might make us closed in on ourselves. The parishes, the schools, the institutions are made for going out … if they don’t, they become an NGO, and the church cannot be an NGO. May the bishops and priests forgive me if some of you create a bit of confusion afterward. That’s my advice. Thanks for whatever you can do.”

The New Media, the elctronic world of communication, be it websites, blogs, tweets, social networking sites or whatever might come in the future, also need to be embraced. There is a virtual community in the world, much of which still needs to be evangelised and the purpose of this blog is to try and reach these people in some small way.

In addition to my own posts, a list of other useful blogs will be gradually built up in order to provide those who find themselves here, other places to seek the truth. On this blog, whilst most of the writing is my own, I try to be faithful to the teaching of the Catholic Church and its magestrium.

Do enjoy your visit, I hope something touches you and feel free to pass on anything you have read here that may be helpful to others.

Every blessing.

  1. TO EVANGELISE OTHERS WE NEED TO BE APOSTLES FIRST AND FOREMOST.

ONLY APOSTLES CAN EVANGELISE, THAT TOO THE TRUE ONES. FOR THESE MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST: TO DENY THEMSELVES….TO TAKE UP THE CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM..
