School of the Annunciation Prayer
written by Rt. Rev. Mark Davies, Bishop of Shrewsbury Diocese
Mary, Mother of the New Evangelisation, as you prayed continuously with the Church at the beginning (Acts 1:14) be united with us now in prayer. Help us to return to the school of Nazareth and to echo your words in the hour of the Annunciation: “let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38).
Help us to rejoice in the wonder of the Incarnation and with you to treasure all these things and ponder them in our hearts (Luke 2:19). Obtain for us the courage to take our stand with you beside the Cross of your Son (John 19:25) in the hour of Redemption.
Guide us as we set out along all the ways of the earth to bring to our brothers and sisters the light of faith, hope and charity (Luke 1:39). All to the praise and adoration of the Most Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit both now and forever. Amen.

IRRATIONAL THINKING IS NOT AN AVENUE TO THE TRUTH BY STEVE FINNELL
The road to the truth about God and His plan for mankind is found in the Bible and the Bible alone. Those who believe that the Bible is not trustworthy, and filled with errors are the ones who trust extra-Biblical writings for the absolute truth.
Why anyone would trust Bible commentaries and church creed books for the complete truth about God is mystifying? It that reasoning based on faith? Is that reasoning a product of wisdom from God? God tells us to pray for wisdom.
How is it possible to not trust the Bible and then use the Bible, that you believe it not trustworthy, for your bases for writing absolute truth in church catechisms and other books that contradict Biblical facts?
It is irrational to deny that the Bible is not God’s only trustworthy source for truth and then use it to argue opposite doctrines found in creed books and Bible commentaries that have been written by mere men.
Trust the Bible and the Bible alone for God’s view or trusts the uninspired writings of men.
Scriptures are inspired by God.
The views of men are inspired by their own opinions.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God……(NKJV)
What could be more irrational than using a Bible you do not believe is the absolute truth and the only truth as the proof to validate a position contrary to Scripture?

If this were true, Jesus Christ would not have needed to establish a Church or put a man in charge (Matthew 16:18). We would also not require pastors, preachers, writers, evangelists or anyone else to help us understand and interpret scripture, not even bloggers!
The Bible is the inspired word of God and fully trustworthy and it states that Jesus Christ came to fulfil the law and founded his Church on earth, giving Peter and the Apostles authority, “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18). Not only that, but 10 days after His ascension on the feast of Pentecost, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit in order to give the disciples the power to continue his mission (Acts 2:3-4).
The Catholic faith relies on God who reveals Himself through Scripture (the Bible), Tradition (central to which is the Sacred Liturgy following the command of Jesus (Luke 22:19)) and the Magisterium of His Church (the authority, already mentioned, that lays down the teaching of the Church).
From this Apostolic authority, Pope Saint John Paul II was inspired to convoke an extraordinary synod of bishops who, in collaboration with the whole Church, published the Catechism of the Catholic Church which is at once biblical, liturgical and doctrinally sound. It does not add a single word to scripture, nor does it remove a single word. What it does is provide Catholics and others interested in the one, true faith the opportunity to gain a full understanding of their faith.
Whilst some Bible commentaries and similar books may well wander away from the true teaching, the Catechism of the Catholic Church can be relied upon by all to provide authentic teaching.
